这相对来讲是一个新的进步。上几代人中，父亲们通常不了解他们小孩的日常生活，他们可能偶尔会换一次尿布，但其余都是他们太太事情。这新发现的兴趣对于我们的生活方式有着巨大的影响，因为这意味着平衡工作和家庭对男女双方同等重要，这肯定是有用的，不仅对父母，而且对整个社会。
这些改变的正面影响表现为我们不再羡慕别人的薪水，别人拥有车、假期，相反，我们羡慕人们拥有时间。我们羡慕人们能及时回家给刚学步的孩子洗澡，时间正成为最抢手的商品，从容行事正成为终极的奢侈追求。
