    An old Chinese saying goes: ‘Fortune awaits those who overcome death’. The moment I was pushed into the operation theatre, the countdown to the last breath of my life began. Fear hovered around me. Thoughts started to occupy my restless mind. What’s going to happen to my young child? How would I face the challenges ahead? Would I live or die?
    
    When I woke up from the after-effects of the anesthetic, I strongly believed that my doctor had given me a new lease of life. I was determined to beat the odds, as there was endless love and support from colleagues and friends as well as my boss. My boss made time for me and visited me in hospital. This touched my heart deeply; I owe the company and Chairman a big debt of gratitude.
    
    A strong will may destroy one but it certainly toughens one up too. Going through sessions of chemotherapy, looking at reflections of my bald head and facing death daily, I was consumed by the urge to survive.  Having gone through life’s toughest challenge, I understand the importance of health at a much deeper level now. Yes, money and fame are not important. Being healthy is important. All I want is to live a simple and fulfilled life.
    
    When I was recuperating after my operation, I began to learn yoga and practise in the garden, which made me feel happier, healthier and more relaxed. It occurred to me that it would be a big pity to give up yoga after my return to work. The company surprised me by offering lessons on Meditation!
    
    This activity helps one to get rid of fatigue, to relax and explore one’s inner world. After meditation, my mind becomes calmer and clearer, as if all my tension and anxiety have been removed. After meditation, I am filled with a strong feeling of natural peace from connecting with others and taking better care of myself. I focus on giving up my bad habits and living a much healthier life. I learn to let go of my confusion, my misery and the bad memories. More importantly, I learn to let the past be the past. I learn to think positively, and to appreciate and enjoy everything that Life has to offer. Life is so wonderful and I must learn to cherish it.
    Besides staying in touch with the mind and spirit every Thursday with my new-found friends in Meditation, I also swim in the hot spring swimming pool that is another privilege we enjoy. I am so grateful because it can make me stronger and healthier through consistent practice. I know my full recovery depends on making my mind and body fit and strong. For those who wish to lose weight, it is also a good choice.
    I had come so close to Death once that I am now much more aware of the meaning of Life and do not take it for granted. Love whatever happens, love whoever appears, and love myself with a brand new chapter in this life.
    
    人们常说大难不死,必有后福,是的,我过来了。当推入手术室的那一刻,我在想着生命可能倒计时了,害怕与恐惧,想着我还算年轻,想着小孩尚小,想着一切的一切,如何面对。当我从麻药中艰难的醒来时,我坚信医生又一次给我生的希望,下决心哪怕再大的苦我一定要坚持过来,因为我还没有报答我的同事、我的朋友、最重要的是我们的老总,他亲自来医院看我这个普通员工,那份感恩的心,我一定要用自己行动来报答他,我要好好工作用我的余生来感谢我的好领导,哪怕工作时间只有一点点。
    意志能摧毁人,但也能磨练人,当你接受化、放疗生不如死的时候,面对镜中秃发而不能接受的现实时,或许当你将死之时,生的欲望是多么的强烈。当我经历过一次人生的考验,会更加渴望与理解健康身体的重要,是的,金钱名利不重要。我要去做,让自己变健康,让自己普通而活得有意义。
    休养期间,我每天去公园锻炼身体,当我接触到瑜珈操时我觉得它是我要的,它能使我愉悦且健康,甚至上班了想着可能没有机会去而遗憾时。公司为我创造了又一个这样的环境—冥想,让我们能在一天的疲劳之余,去享受另一个舒适的环境,去打开心灵的窗户,让温暖的阳光照进心田,去感觉又一个美丽的花园境地,去感受宇宙带给你自然宁静、祥和、温馨的氛围,让你身心得到舒展和释放,去抛弃一切的烦恼,去告诉自己,过去的一切,带给你的那些工作或生活的不如意、那些痛苦、那些对你的伤害,你都要去包容或忘记,纠结的心才会释怀。生命是短暂的,匆匆过客,但生活品味可以由自己来改变、创造,冥想----让你感觉生活是美好的,用双手去拥抱自然、去感谢大自然,去感谢宇宙带给你的一切,用一颗真诚感恩的心去面对你的周围,别去怨恨、别去不满,学会宽容,这会让自己的每天都是精彩的,很放松、很自然。
    工作之余去我们的室内泳池游泳,感受公司对我们的关爱与支持,从冥想的平静之中体会全身舒展带给你无穷的力量与毅力,告诉自己你很健康,你更坚强、更自信,你还有什么好怨恨,好好疼爱自己,善待自己,健康是你珍贵的财富,拥有这一切,你会更美丽,爱护你身边你的同事或朋友,我是大自然的一分子,沐浴同一个宇宙世界的气息,你是快乐的,幸福的、安逸的,你的心情会更平静,更舒畅,去感受吧,它会给你带给与众不同的感应。
